Holy Monastery of the Holy Trinity in Plataea

The age-old monastery of the Holy Trinity is located on the northern slopes of Kitheronas, built at an altitude of 580 meters and 4 kilometers west of Plataea, in an environment with particularly rich vegetation and beautiful scenery.

The Holy Monastery of the Holy Trinity was built in the 15th century. It was severely damaged by the great earthquake of Alkyonides in 1981. From the old monastery, the katholikon which has significant damage and two ruined monks’ cells are preserved. The church has two layers of frescoes of the 16th and 18th century.

Efforts have been made in recent years to restore it.
The monastery celebrates on Monday of the Holy Spirit and on September 14th.
