Just outside Chostia, on the road to Sarandi, and to the north of the acropolis of ancient Corsiai, we find the Holy Monastery of the Holy Archangels.

It was built along with other monasteries on the southern side of Mount Helicon, which ends on the coast of the Corinthian Gulf and near the walls of the ancient Boeotian city of the Corsiai.

According to the tradition, the monastery was built in the 12th century. The original church was destroyed in 1776 and in its place the current one was built in the architectural style of crossed-dome.
The Archbishop of Athens and All Greece Ieronymos II initiated a major effort for the restoration and maintenance of this remarkable monastery.
