The Municipality of Thiva, its Tourism Promotion and Development Committee, wine producers and farmers from the region, attended the Tourism, Culture, Gastronomy and Wine Exhibition, which took place at the Zappeio Exhibition Hall in Athens from 19 to 21 October 2018, together with the 16th Congress of the European Council of Gastronomy & Oenology Associations.

Through its pavilion, the Municipality succeeded in promoting, highlighting and linking its cultural heritage with quality local gastronomy and wine products. Besides, the producers who exhibited at the Municipality’s stand had the opportunity to get in touch with professionals of their fields, to give interviews to print and online newspapers and TV channels and, of course, let Greek and foreign consumers learn about their products.

During the exhibition, the Municipality’s pavilion visited the Minister of Tourism Elena Kountoura, the Secretary General of Rural Development Nikos Antonoglou, the President of the Greek National Tourism Organisation (EOT) Haralambos Karimalis, the President of CEUCO Carlos Martin Cosme, the President of the “Acropolis” Chef Club of Attica Konstantinos Mouzakis, the President of the Junior Section of the “Acropolis” Chef Club of Attica Nikolaos Mouzakis and many professionals in the field of tourism, gastronomy and wine.
The exhibition also attended the Mayor of Thiva Spiros Nikolaou, the President of the Tourism Promotion and Development Committee Dimitris Koutsodimos, the President of the Secondary School Committee Dinos Tyrinopoulos, the Municipal Counsellor Thomas Kiousis and the Counsellor of the District Council of Thiva Antonis Saltas.

The pavilion team consisted of the regular member of the Local Youth Council of the Municipality of Thiva (TOSYN) Themistoklis Tsarouhas, the regular member of the Tourism Committee Maria Zygouri and four municipal employees.
