Every year on August 23rd (nine days after the Dormition of the Theotokos), a trade fair is held in Thiva, along with the fair of the Metropolitan Church of Thiva, which is dedicated to the Holy Mary, and lasts until August 29th.
These days the city of Thiva is buzzing with life! Hundreds of merchants set up their stalls (selling clothing – footwear, jewellery, household items, CDs, local pastries, such as loukoumades and halvas, bells and traditional gifts, books etc.) on the stands set up by the Municipality, and thousands of citizens and visitors can find there products at very affordable prices!
