The Church of St. Gregory the Theologian is now in ruins, but it is referred to as very important for its time, characterized by the Ministry of Culture as an prominent Byzantine monument.

The church of St. Gregory the Theologian was built – according to the surviving inscription – in the year 872/873 at the expense of of the royal candidate Vassilios. The temple was of large dimensions without its volume having been defined until today. Its architectural sculptures are of great importance. In its current location today stands a chapel – a single-space temple of the 19th century, where the inscription of the church is preserved. It is located in the southeastern part of the church.
