Throughout its long history, Viotia has been a place that deeply loved its independence and self-sufficiency, as its inhabitants felt fulfilled in this blessed and fertile paradise.

They were brave warriors with strategic skills, resourceful but not lacking in either arts or letters. Proof of this are the wonderful examples of coroplasty and the originality of the vases of their pottery workshops, which we find in excavations not only within the boundaries of Boeotia but also beyond them. In terms of literature, Viotia can claim the poets Hesiod and Pindar, the poetess Corina and the biographer and philosopher Plutarch, figures studied and respected by the world community.
